CRAFTY CHRISTMAS

I posted this cute project on the SO BLOG but here's where you'll find more pics & stuff :)

I found this cute project while bloghopping HERE. I was instantly in love & wanted to make a waterless snow globe of my own. So I got to work....and this is what I came up with.

It's definitely not as cute as the one I found, but I love mine & that's all that matters, right?? I used patterned paper from Basic Grey to give it that vintagey feel I love so much. The little trees were super cheap at Michaels. I also picked up some black gingham ribbon, the red BG paper, brown Bazzill cardstock, & some Martha Stewart glue, glitter & flocking at Michaels. I already had this jar at home & some leftover embellies from my Simply Obsessed December kit. Then I hopped on over to Martha's site to see if she had a template for a house & she did! I swear that lady has everything you could want to craft on that site. I tweaked the house just a little, giving the roof a scalloped edge on either side & a frame around the door.

Here's a close up shot. The star hangs from the underside of the lid with a glue dot & piece of white sewing thread. I glittered the door & the roof. I made a donut shape out of green paper & a punch. Then I wrapped it in green thread to make the little wreath & gave it a bow made with bakers twine. So cute! I wanted the house to have more of a snowy effect so I put pretty white trim around its edges (from the SO Dec. kit). The "snow" on the bottom is just a small bottle of Martha's flocking & some glitter to top it off.

This is the lid. I smothered the snowflake in glitter & put a little dab of pink stickles in the center. I love how it sparkles.

I put some ribbon & embroidery floss around the sides of the lid too.

I wish you a very merry Christmas :) Enjoy!

  1. W-wow! This is seriously LOVELY, and way too cute for words. I'll try anyway -- the details on this are so charming. I love the bows and the sparkle, and the addition of the trim was genius!
