BIG puddles

There was an amazing sunset last night. You know the saying - Red sky at night, Sailor's delight?? Well.......




Not this time! Boy did it rain. My street was a flood zone at 6:30 this morning.


Mike left to play basketball at 4:30am (yes, I think he's crazy to wake up that early on a Saturday) and said the roads were clear when he left. In fact, it wasn't even raining yet. He called on his way home to tell me the roads to get in & out of our little town were all shut down. Luckily a friend of ours was on his way home & has a big truck. He picked up Mike & they drove home a back way. Good thing! We have something here in AZ called The Stupid Motorist Law. Cool name, eh? No, I'm not foolin'. That's the real name! If Mike had decided to brave the deep waters on the road & got stuck & had to be rescued, he'd be slapped with a $2,000 fine. And that's not so fine. So he was smart & turned around.

Most of the roads have cleared but we are expecting more rain this weekend......
