I was introduced to the art of weaving in my college days as an art student. When our project was due, I wove an oversized cereal bowl using boxes of Rice Krispies. It was quite the sight to see a somewhat pregnant lady walking around campus with strips of flimsy cardboard going in every direction (I had to transport the project to classes & home several days in a row to get it done.)
On Tuesday night, I learned a new weaving technique that is much easier & absolutely more delicious.
Guess what we're having for dessert tonight?? ;)

ReplyDeleteI did the basketweave right on the cake. You cover the cake in frosting first & then do the basketweave right over it (I used buttercream frosting). I'm sure you could find a youtube video to get instructions. It's easy once you get the pattern down. I would suggest that you practice on a flat surface first just to get the hang of it. Let me know if you want me to do a tutorial & I'll put one together for ya!
