hello Sandy, goodbye power

Hello friends.  Just popping in to say hello.  And goodbye.  But just for a few days.  We are hunkered down in our little brick rental home, listening to the pouring rain of Sandy begin to beat on our roof.  The Mr.'s work is cancelled until further notice and the kids are home from school.  As of right now, we still have power but that is almost guaranteed to change.  Sandy is getting stronger and we are still in the "Action" zone.  But  I am happy to report that we are ready.  Well at least I think we are ready.  We've never been in a hurricane before, so this will be an adventure.  I'm trying to think of it as our grand welcome to the East coast ;)  Our 72 hour kits are ready, we have plenty of batteries, water and non-perishable food thanks to Sam's Club.  And we have plenty of board games and Legos to keep us occupied.

It will be quiet on this ol' blog till things settle down.  My thoughts and prayers are with those who will be affected by this big mama of a storm.  Stay safe.

xo,

    1. Thank you! We are prepping for the worst of it, which will hit later tonight. We are hoping to stay as dry as possible, but you just never know with Mother Nature.

    1. I will definitely let you know when we are out of the clear! We are on the outside of the storm, but still in the danger area and the side that is forecasted to get the most wind. So we'll see how things pan out!

  3. Goodness, I hope you stay safe during the storm! Down here in the South, we are all praying for you all. Where I live, we get remnants of Gulf Coast hurricanes- they're no joke, for sure.
